Unprecedented Design

At the age of 14, Susana began working in her family’s construction and decorating firm in New York City, focusing on the city’s luxury skyline apartments and hospitality spaces. Through this experience, she learned how to fully express and communicate herself through interior design. She developed her talent for interior design by working alongside her father and an instructor from the New York School of Interior Design. By the age of 17, she had become a color expert and an important part of the firm’s design development team.

She continued nurturing her talent while studying Design and Marketing at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, with a curriculum focused on hospitality design in what is known as America’s hospitality capital. There, she developed a passion for commercial hospitality projects. After graduating from UNLV, she moved to Miami, where she designed and managed projects for some of the city’s most well-known hotels and restaurants. Her background in business marketing also gives her designs and projects a unique advantage.

In 2000, she expanded Susanacruzdesign to New York City, honoring her original experiences and creative roots. Freedom of expression, mood, ambiance, color, and lighting are just a few of the unmatched elements she brings to the design process. She has also played a key role in several projects in Los Angeles, where she worked with some of the most recognized names in Hollywood. Her portfolio includes Hotel Victor, Sugar Factory, Hotel Vittoria, Down and Dirty Tacos, the Versace Mansion Restaurant and Bar Area, Eastlight, SLS, Eastview, various New York City spas, and post-COVID-style corporate offices.

Susana Cruz has been recognized by many as one of Miami’s best up-and-coming designers and later expanded her work into New York City following the pandemic. She has gained recognition for her unique, out-of-the-box creativity and her strong ability to communicate mood and ambiance through design. Her work combines mood-driven environments, creative concepts, functional layouts, and a strong marketing background. Her clients appreciate her direct ability to inspire, motivate, and communicate a one-of-a-kind vision while transforming ideas into complete design concepts.
